Plymouth Wildcats Baseball 2018 Spring Classic

The Plymouth Wildcat Youth Baseball Clinic is designed for young aspiring ball players who want to improve their skills for the 2018 season and beyond. The clinic will focus on age appropriate skill development in a positive, fun, learning environment. Clinic attendees will receive instruction from the Plymouth Wildcat baseball staff and 2018 Plymouth Wildcat players.

Session 1: Boys & Girls entering Grades 1st - 4th Saturday, March 17, 2017 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Session 2: Boys & Girls entering Grades 5th - 8th Saturday, March 17, 2017 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Location is Plymouth High School Gymnasium. Cost is $45 includes snack, drink and T-shirt (limited sizes). Additional Plymouth Wildcat spirit wear will be available for purchase.

Campers need to bring baseball glove, bat, gym shoes (no cleats allowed in gym) and wear a baseball cap. A labeled water bottle and protective cup recommended.

Check In is 30 minutes prior to your scheduled session.

Registration deadline is March 2, 2018. Register by Feb 28, 2018 to ensure correct t-shirt size is ordered. The Lab (formerly Great Lakes Baseball) located inside Artic Edge is offering GCYBSA members a spring break camp (Mon April 2 – Thurs April 5) at a special price. For $30 a day you can sign up for the 2 hour camp or you can sign up the four days for $110 and receive a $10 savings on top of the special price. Players will train for two hours on fielding, hitting, throwing and play fun competitive games. This camp give your child the opportunity to spend up to 8 hours with professional staff. The goal is to provide guidance on the tools needed to develop your game to the next level and beyond.

7-8U camp will be held from 9 am – 11 a

9-10U camp will be held from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm

11-12U camp will be held from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Bring your bats, gloves, helmet and turf/tennis shoes.

The Pitch

The pitch will be hosting 4 weeks of baseball clinics with coach Sean Winkelseth, Catcher - Wayne State University.

Bio -

These clinics will cover the following:

Week 1 - Infield fundamental break down / Tee Drill hitting / Conditioning.

Week 2 - Infield recap / Drill work / Bunting / Conditioning.

Week 3 - Increasing Arm Strength / Tee / Cage Hitting / Conditioning.

Week 4 - Field communication - Catchers, pitchers, infielders, outfielders. Effective communication techniques on the field.

Ages / Dates / Times: 8 - 12 year olds (8 Players Max)

Cost: $ 150.00 (4 Weeks, 6 Hours)

March 1st - Thursday. 5:30-7:00

March 8th - Thursday. 5:30-7:00

March 17th - Saturday 12:00-1:30

March 24th - Saturday 12:00-1:30

Ages / Dates / Times: 13 - 18 year olds (8 Players Max)

Cost: $ 200.00 (4 Weeks, 8 hours)

Please bring mitt, bat, helmet, catchers gear (if you are a catcher). Please wear tennis shoes or turf shoes - no cleats.



The Lab



Coach Cain played for Finesse travel team for five years in which she helped her team to two elite eight finishes as well as one third place finish in nationals. A 2008 graduate of Kennedy High School, she set the record for most strikeouts in a year with 230, compiled a 55-22 record her first three years, had 15 homeruns and 62 runs heading into senior year. She served as softball team captain for two years. Coach Cain is currently a pitcher for the Wayne State University softball team. Last year the team won the GLIAC league, as well as regionals and super regionals to advance to the World Series where they finished in the final eight at the NCAA Division II World Series. Coach Cain is also a member of the Midland Lady Explorers 23u team who won the 2010 World Series in Peoria, Illinois.

WHAT IS PROVIDED: 2017 Canton Baseball Camp T-Shirt, Lunch included each day (hot dogs or pizza or cheeseburgers, chips and drinks)

The 2017 camp offers instruction from the following coaches with college and pro baseball playing backgrounds: Mark Blomshield-Head Baseball Coach, (Western Michigan University), Cos Delapaz (Wayne State), Jim Wisniewski (Central Michigan University/ South Alabama University), Anthony Holyszko (Western Michigan University), Seth Tschetter (Olivet Nazarene), Brent Mattson (Eastern Michigan) as well as current players in the Canton Baseball Program.

The camp includes four days of group and individual instruction in all phases of the game including: Throwing, Fielding, Hitting, Base Running, Pitching and Baseball Specific Exercises for improving Arm Strength, Speed and Agility.

Note: Concession stand is open for drinks and assorted snacks.
