2024 Baseball Camps/Clinics

Nitro Fastpitch Camp/Clinic

 

GCYBSA's Nitro Fastpitch travel team with Coach Bryan Boyd will be hosting a skills clinic on Sunday, April 28, 2024, for girls 7 to 10 years old.  The clinic will focus on fundamentals and drill work in the areas of hitting, fielding, throwing, catching, and pitching.  The clinic will be run by our Nitro coaching staff as well as other local coaches and players.

 

The clinic will go from 9 am to 11 am indoors at KZONE (located at 45600 Mast Road in Plymouth).  Should be a great day of softball and we'd love to have your player join us.  Space is limited, so please register ASAP using the link below.  If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out!

Cost is $10 at the door.  Please bring cash or a check made to GCYBSA.

Players will need to bring their own facemask helmet, bat and glove.

2023 Camp Clinics


Plymouth Canton Youth Sports - The Park Baseball Camp

Plymouth Canton Youth Sports has opened registration for its annual "The Park" Baseball Camp.  This camp is focused on providing Plymouth Canton middle school players a chance to experience the drills, coaching, and skills which are important at the Plymouth Canton high school level + have fun baseball scrimmages (coaches will pitch to players during scrimmages to save player arms).  This camp is open to players of all skills levels.

 

Players entering grades 6/7/8/9 in Fall of 2023 are encouraged to attend this baseball camp which will be held at the Canton High School Varsity Baseball field.  Varsity Coaches and/or Players from Canton, Salem, Plymouth will run this camp.  Each camp is limited to 20 players and will have a 5 player to 1 Coach ratio which means each player will have close interaction with camp instructors.  Please register early before the 20-player camp limit is reached.   The cost of this 3 day camp is $125 per player.

 

Players can register for 1 or more camps as each camp teaches the same core skills and slightly different situational skills.

The University of Michigan offers several summer baseball camps for players of all skill levels, including youth camps, prospect camps, and skills camps. These camps are designed to provide players with the opportunity to improve their skills and knowledge of the game, while also having fun and making new friends.

The youth camps are typically for players between the ages of 8 and 13, while the prospect camps are geared towards high school-aged players who are looking to play at the college level.

Each camp is led by experienced coaches and players from the University of Michigan baseball team, as well as other college and high school coaches from around the country. Campers will receive individualized instruction in hitting, pitching, fielding, and base running, as well as participate in games and scrimmages.

Plymouth Wildcats  High School - 2021 Youth Baseball Clinic 

The Plymouth Wildcats Youth Clinic is designed for aspiring ball players who want to improve their skills for the 2021 season and beyond. The clinic will focus on age-appropriate skill development in a positive and fun, learning environment. Clinic attendees will receive instruction from Plymouth Wildcats Baseball coaches and 2021 Plymouth Wildcat Varsity players. Topics covered will include the Plymouth approach to:

Hitting, Pitching,  Infield,  Outfield, and Catching - *All clinic attendees will receive radar gun readings!*

What:
Session 1:        Boys and Girls 1st -4th grade            Sunday, April 18, 2021  9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Session 2:        Boys and Girls 5th-8th grade             Sunday, April 18, 2021  1:00 pm  – 4:00 pm

Where: Plymouth High School Varsity Baseball Field.  Use the tennis court parking lot off of Joy Rd, west of Salem High School.  Baseball field is behind the tennis court.  

Cost: $45 which includes a snack, drink, and T-Shirt.   Additional Plymouth Wildcats spirit wear will be available for purchase.

Check-In:  8:30 am for the early session and 12:30 pm for the afternoon session.  Check in at the baseball concession stand.

Campers will need to bring a baseball glove, bat, gym shoes (no cleats in the gymnasium), and wear a baseball hat. A labeled water bottle and protective sports cup are recommended.

In order to ensure COVID safety measures are followed, registration will be limited to 30 participants per session.

Deadline to register is April 2, 2021.  Register by March 26th to ensure correct t-shirt size is ordered.

In case of cancellation or changes in venue, parents will be contacted via the email address provided.

Participants will need to bring a baseball glove, bat, cleats (or athletic shoes), and wear a baseball hat.  A labeled personal water bottle and protective sports cup are also recommended.

These popular camps will emphasize drills and skills that cover offensive strategies and defensive plays.  In addition, agility and sport specific training will be covered.  Participants should pack a sack lunch and water bottle.

 HIGH QUALITY INSTRUCTION:


The 2019 camp offers instruction from the following coaches:  Mark Blomshield-Head Baseball Coach, (Western Michigan University) ,  Cos Delapaz (Wayne State), Jim Wisniewski  (Central Michigan University/ South Alabama University), Anthony Holyszko (Western Michigan University), Seth Tschetter (Olivet Nazarene), Marc Szalka (CMU), Brent Mattson (Eastern Michigan) as well as current players in the Canton Baseball Program. 


The camp includes three days of group and individual instruction in all phases of the game including: Scrimmages,  Throwing, Fielding, Hitting, Base Running, Pitching and Baseball Specific Exercises for improving Arm Strength, Speed and Agility.

DETROIT TIGERS BASEBALL SOFTBALL CAMPS
The Detroit Tigers are proud to announce the inaugural season of the NEW Detroit Tigers Baseball and Softball Camps.  This camp is open to boys and girls ages 6 - 14.    The week long camp will be held August 5 - 9, 2019 from 9 am to 3pm.   Canton at the Canton Sports Center located at 46555 W. Michigan Avenue (the softball fields behind Artic Edge and High Velocity).   

Cost is $395 per child.  If you register two or more children from the same family, each will save $25.  There is a $25 early bird discount, if you register prior to April 1, 2019.

US Baseball Academy Camp coming to Plymouth Chrisitan Academy

This is a unique concept that provides young players an opportunity to take their game to the next level.  USBA camps are designed to develop skills in all facets of the game with an emphasis on teaching proper fundamentals and techniques.  Sessions are available in hitting, pitching, fielding and catching.

*Sessions for grades 1 - 12 include six hours of instruction in one skill for as low as $139.  Add a second skill for $109 and a third skill for $69.

* A national baseball program with a local touch operated by Joe Bottorff, Head Coach, Plymouth Christian Academy, and his staff.

* With a low player to coach ratio, each player gets plenty of individual attention in a small-group atmosphere.

Youth Baseball Academy is run through Plymouth Canton Community Education. In this program, participants will learn fundamentals of baseball and engage in game play with two experienced high school baseball coaches.

Sessions are broken down by grade level. Sessions begin 1/14/19 and conclude on 2/25/19.  There will be no sessions on 1/21/19 or 2/18/19.
